The Traveling Wilburys The best super group of all time?… probably. Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynn, George Harrison and Bob Dylan. That's a pretty potent lineup of super songwriters. These quirky little Gretsch Traveling Wilburys guitars are elegant collector's items. What makes them great is not that they are great guitars, but that they are a very important piece of Gretsch and music history.

Gretsch Guitar Company launched this series of fun and collectible guitars in 1988. The Gretsch designer perfectly integrated the visual aesthetic of the Wilburys with the branding of the instruments. A large full color montage of images and text based on antique musical instruments was screen printed in random positions on the top of the base body in pearl white. Due to the technique, no two tops are the same.

The back of the body features authentic factory-engraved signatures of the band members using pseudonyms. The legends of this band planned to remain as low-key as the music they created, not wanting their real names and fame to influence their album sales.

Gretsch intended these guitars as collector's items rather than professional guitars, so although they play decently and have a very distinctive sound, no one would expect this to be your best guitar.

This TW-100T was the smallest model in size, approximately 3/4. It has a single pickup and vibrated bridge, the original tremolo Arm is included. It weighs in at 6 Pounds 7 Ounces and has some minor cosmetic issues ( see photos ) This does not include the original box or any of the contents.
